The American Federation Of Musicians strike went into effect on Aug 1 1942 which brings to an end what I call the
Golden Age of 78 RPM recordings. By the time the strike was over music had changed forever. Great while it lasted.
Here are a few recordings made while the war was still on. The first was recorded during the strike which didn't
affect vocalists. A beautiful song done a cappella. Warsaw Concerto is from a 1941 British war movie
"Dangerous Moonlight". The movie was released in the USA in 1942 as "Suicide Squadron" as shown on the labels.
There are a few airchecks here which, technical quality aside on some, I think are great! I had to share them.
